The kick-off
The new year already promises to be an interesting year. We are excited to share our enthusiasm with the rest of the world!
We have had a great time last year, but are confident this year will be even better. Maybe a little bit early to say so, but we enjoy being optimistic.
At the moment we are mostly preparing for the new season (cleaning up and sleeping in), but we know that it won’t take long before we travel Europe again, and we can’t wait.
So let’s show you why we are looking forward, what makes us happy, and what else is new.
Life is all about having fun, and finding new ways to have fun. Don’t you ever think about the days life was easier? Just having a drink, sitting outside, enjoying yourself? Well, we do, and we don’t just think about it, we try to practice what we preach. After all…The aim of the game is to feel real good #wink..
Sometimes that involves doing something you’ve always dreamed off, like buying a Helter Skelter. Rob van Rosmalen always dreamed of owning one, and now we do! Symbolic for having fun and going out, the Helter Skelter stands out.
The 15 meter tall Helter Skelter is a definite eye catcher on every event, and bound to bring a smile on your face. For many years people have been drawn to the colourful lighthouse to take a ride down the slide, and why wouldn’t they. From May onwards, you can have this special item on your event, just send Rob an email, or give us a call.
It has been cold outside, and we have noticed. We are the outdoor type of person, but as soon as the temperature gets below 5 degrees, building a spiegeltent is becoming a bit more challenging. Snow, rain, and lots of wind have been rough on us, and our spiegeltents.
That doesn’t stop us though, and winter has its advantages. Drinking wine at the fireplace, spending time with friends and family, and visiting a show in a warm, comfortable spiegeltent of course. The cold days are best spend with your loved ones, and we are glad to be a part of that.
As we did during ‘Strasbourg Mon Amour’, the best way to spend your Valentine’s Day. Building right in the heart of Strasbourg, on a beautiful square is rewarding as it is, but Strasbourg understands romance. For a week, the whole city centered around love. With music, dancing, dinners, parties, and lots of lights it warms even the coldest hearts.
Our Paradiso was turned into a ‘Café des Amours’, and it looked stunning. Surrounded by old buildings, the enormous extended Paradiso suited perfectly. Such a spiegeltent, combined with great parties and music, is destined to create the most romantic atmosphere.
It may be cold outside, but we feel the love!
Some things are special, even to us. So time to give them that bit of extra attention they deserve. Time to put the spotlight on our friends from Perth, and one of our favourites!
Australian Sun
The winter may be romantic, but some of us just get sick of rain once in a while. Luckily there is an easy way to deal with the cold if you are a spiegeltent builder. Hide in Australia!
A change of scenery helps us relax and saves us from a winter depression. Daan was the first to arrive in Perth to build the West Australian Spiegeltent for Fringeworld.
Our Spiegeltent was located in the The Pleasure Garden, and has featured over 35 different shows across the Fringeworld season. Perth is the ideal getaway for a spiegeltent builder. It is warm, the people are nice, and the best part of all, there is no need to feel homesick! Since more and more Dutchies are coming over every winter, Perth is feeling like home.
Perth might be the kick-off, but it surely isn’t the last city we’ll visit. Dominique already went to Adelaide, Remon will go to Perth again, and Thijs and Jeffrey will make sure Hobart gets their spiegeltent. And after hat, who knows? As long as all of us get a little bit of Australian sun.
Taking the stage
We love every single one of our spiegeltents, and choosing between them would be impossible. Therefore we decided, we are going to give them their rightful place in our update one-by-one.
First of is our Salon Perdu, since it is our trusted companion during the European high season. It has seen the most places of all our spiegeltents by far, and is ready for more.
